Once children reach reading independence, focus shifts from learning to read to reading to learn. Rich discussion and questioning around what your child is reading will support them to develop comprehension of what is read. The following links provide some examples of questions you could ask your child. Focus on 3 or 4 questions in each discussion, not all questions will be relevant for all books.
